Naki Recap

What can be said about the 'Naki? After our primary course (Ngamotu Links) dropped out because of both fairway and green coring, we were left stranded in a region without a true signature event. That, and the fact that we squeezed the entire thing into three days, means many OCT members don't actually have any tangible memories of this event even happening.

Anyway, the higher handicappers took the lead in this tourney as Matt Byrne outlasted Iain Stewart at Westown on day 3. In keeping with the spirit of the 'Naki tour, the bar at Westown was closed so Matt didn't even get to drink beer from his trophy.

Scott Simpson got the first OCT hole in one and we partied it up with a heavily-mulleted crew at Stratford afterwards.

Other highlights:
  • Simon Feasey, shanking it off the first tee at Inglewood (Finglef*cker).
  • All night sessions of table tennis at boot camp
  • Barlow and Feasey's race for the spoon
  • Jezza's 6 hour drive for a noon tee-time on day one at Te Ngutu
Courses:
  • Te Ngutu
  • Stratford (rounds 2 & 3 on day two)
  • Westown
