Canterbury 2025
Been a long time between drinks on this blog as the blog curator has taken an extended hiatus from OCT shenanigans. In the interim? A lot of Jezza and Rob wins.
The 2025 Crew
- Jeremy Andrew (organiser)
- Rob Mihaljevich
- Mattie B
- Craig Foltz
- John Kraemer (Canada!)
- Ben Barlow (reluctantly)
For this installment, the chaps return to the South Island for 3 rounds on a varied set of Canterbury courses.
Tour Itinerary
- Methven
- Terrace Downs (pictured)
- Harewood
Tour organiser and local resident set-up a fantastic event, with a variety of courses and some top-notch accommodation - We've come a long way from the P-Labs of Taupo! There was even some civilised games of cards played (including one in which Jezza continuously barked like a dog - so maybe "civilised" is the wrong descriptor here?).
As for the golf? Jezza came in as the red-hot favourite and he didn't disappoint. In the end, he eased away for a pretty comfortable 3-shot victory over Craig Foltz (the peoples choice) for his 814th* title.
Beyond Jezza's inevitable triumph, the real highlight was John K coming over from Canada and nailing a hole in one at Terrace Downs on a par 3 overlooking the mighty Rakaia. Impressive.
Errata & Notes
- Rob won the farthest club throw comp.
- Mattie won Barnbougle.
- Ben did not rekindle his love for the game.
Final Standings:
1: Jeremy (104)
2: CF (101)
3: Rob / John (94)
5: Mattie B
6: Benzie (Spoon)
